Nesselande – Waterfront resort in the polder
For now Nesselande will be the last expansion area for Rotterdam and is being constructed in a rapid tempo in the east of the city. The designers of the area have given Nesselande several qualities distinguishing it from other suburban areas in the Netherlands. The location at the waterfront of the Zevenhuizerplas brings recreation within reach for the new people of Nesselande. Due to the underground connection, this ‘waterfront resort’ is now also attractive for visitors from outside the area. The extensive set up with wide streets and few traffic bumps give it a relaxed street scene.
