Van Nelle factory

Rotterdam ArchiGuides organises guided tours for architecture enthusiastics through the Van Nellefactory. Designed by Brinkman & Van der Vlugt, the Van Nelle factory (1925–1931) is one of the most remarkable examples of Het Nieuwe Bouwen (Dutch functionalism) in Rotterdam.

The concept of light, air and space pervades the entire complex. The factory is an international milestone in the development of modern architecture.

Within an hour an experienced Van Nelle guide will show you the architecture, the historical background, the production process and the recent renovation.

Guidedtours take place on Monday till Friday from 10:00 – 11:30 uur
and in the afternoon from 14:00 – 17:00 uur.
